MATAPEL UNIQUA pigments pastes are highly concentrated finely dispersed, well flowing aqueous pastes for applications in water-based system, mainly for use in emulsion paints, based on polyvinyl acetate, styrenated butadiene, vinyl acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, water reducible polyester, water-reducible alkyd, etc. The other usual applications are water-based inks, latex, artists’ colors, wood colorations, cement etc.
MATAPEL UNIQUA pigment pastes can be simply stirred directly into the water-based systems, yielding a flocculation resistant, uniformly colored product. The quantity to be incorporated depends on the required depth of shade and the composition of the emulsion paint and can vary from 0.1% for a pastel shade to 5%for a full shade.
The current range of MATAPEL UNIQUA consists of 16 standard colors, which can be combined mutually or reduced with white, either dispersed Titanium Dioxide or our recommended uniqua white Q, to obtain the desired shade. The range is based on high quality organic and inorganic pigments, which are from good to excellent in light fastness, in their full shades, as well as in their tints. The other chemical ingredients incorporated in the paste dispersions have been carefully chosen and will not affect the mechanical properties of the paint layer to be made.
It is strongly recommended to close the container well after use, eventhough the composition of the MATAPEL UNIQUA pigments pastes are protected against drying to some extent. The current standard color range of MATAPEL UNIQUA is also available in very highly concentrated form
MATAPEL UNIQUA specifically answers the current world needs of environmentally friendly water-based colorants for coating systems
Details of the technical headings are provided below :
- Name
All the names of the current range of MATAPEL UNIQUA pigment pastes range followed by the C.I (Color Index) generic name as in world standard of colors
- Light fastness
Determined by exposing full shade and tinted patterns to artificial light in Xenotest against Blue Wool Standard. Rating 8 denotes outstanding light fastness and rating 1 indicates very low performance.
- Chemical resistance to acid, alkali, and lime
The resistance to color change when exposed for one hour to
Alkali - 1 % NaOH
Acid - 1 % HCl
Lime - 1 % CaO
